Band Bio.
The Blank Standard is:
Kevin Libby- Guitar
Eric Burns- Guitar
Wade Ball- Vocals
Matt Widuch- Bass
Brandon White- Drums
The Blank Standard was formed in 2011, bringing together five individuals, dedicated to the cause of making BRUTAL BONE-CRUSHING METAL. Started by guitarists Kevin and Eric, the lineup was completed by Brandon (drums), Matt (bass), and Wade(vocals), each of whom bring their own style and influences to the band. The result is a sound that doesn’t adhere to any one particular genre or subgenre of metal, nor does it attempt to. It’s heavy and it fills body bags, and that’s all that matters. Come feel the power. Please spread the word.
Personals:
Kevin has a saying, If it doesn't make you want to kill, then it's not worth listening to. I've been playing guitar since 1987 after I got my first Iron Maiden album and have been hooked ever since. I'm constantly writing music with only three things in mind and that's speed, intensity and bone crushing riffs. The only thing in this world that I love more than metal is my cat. This is by far the most dedicated and talented group of guys I've ever played with and I expect great things to happen; I also enjoy bodybuilding, speedos, and cool parties. Testament, Exodus, Sepultura, Pantera, Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Gwar, August Burns Red, Unearth, Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira. Kevin uses Jackson guitars and VHT amps.
Eric began his practice of guitar brutality under the tutelage of guitarist Ben Lacy in 1995. A steady diet of Metallica, Pantera and Slayer, along with Testament, Fear Factory and Meshuggah, painted the backdrop for Eric's own guitar technique and riffage. Later influences include Lamb of God and Strapping Young Lad. Non-metal influences include Steve Morse, Django Reinhardt, and Paul Gilbert. The philosophy is simple: riffs that murder kill and solos that say something. Eric uses ESP guitars and Mesa-Boogie amps.
Spawned from the muck of Necropolis strives the one branded Wade Ball. In Latin translation, Wadeious Ballicus; son of one that speaks its name engulfs into ashes. Cast out of Necropolis, he reigns on earth in the city of Chicago IL. Thus befriends the ones that are dubbed Kevin Libby, Brandon White, Matt Widuch & Eric Burns. They find this revelation and ask to use his power to accompany what they call a "Band". Wade accepts their noble request in this band called The Blank Standard. Now, worshiping the devil and spilling the blood of the innocent, Wade has completed his task. "Corruption is only the beginning. Mark my words, you're all mine." - Wade Ball. Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Periphery, Overkill, Nevermore, After the Burial, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Between the Buried and Me, Animals As Leaders, The Black Dahlia Murder, Textures, TesseracT, long walks on the beach, The Venture Brothers, and unicorns. Wade uses Shure mics and Behringer PA's.
Matt prides himself in his seperation from establishment metal bands. Influences include After the Burial, As Blood Runs Black, August Burns Red, All Shall Perish, I Killed the Prom Queen, Veil of Maya, Unearth, The Black Dahlia Murder, breakdowns, good tone/good production. Matt also enjoys classical music, hot weather, fiscal conservatism, and loves bunnies. Matt uses ESP-LTD basses and Gallien-Krueger amps.
Brandon came up worshipping the god's of death metal, prog, and fushion. His culmination of influences coupled with his progressive and hard hitting style lends itself to our unique sound. Influences include Carcass, Death, Pestilence, Obituary, Meshuggah, and non-metal bands like Yes, King Crimson, Chick Corea, and Allan Holdsworth. Brandon is also a connoisseur of premium-roast fresh-brewed coffee and film studies. Brandon uses Sonor drums and Sabian cymbals.
